These turbochargers are the first upgrade stage of our THE turbochargers. We recommend using these turbochargers for an application range of 500 to 550 hp. The THE- 550 is equipped with our THE- Upgrade 06 exhaust housing, which offers a very good response behavior. A K04 core with reinforced radial and axial bearings is installed. Only OEM BorgWarner parts are used for the core. The wastegates are reinforced with an additional spring.
Additional information:
- With these turbochargers, a maximum output of over 600 hp could be achieved - however, this has an effect on the durability of the turbocharger. For outputs above 550 hp, we recommend our next expansion stage - this already has an even stronger radial and axial bearing installed!
- All performance data are approximate values that were achieved with our test vehicle - may vary depending on the engine configuration!
- The following components were installed in our S4 B5 test vehicle:
- OEM RS4 intake system
- Exhaust system 90mm
- Pierburg system with one pump and 980cc Bosch injectors
- Wagner intercooler
- Intake cylinder heads, RS4 intake manifold, pistons & connecting rods
- Regular gasoline 100 octane
- For a Plug&Play installation on an S4, the lower fresh air pipes of an RS4 or our K04 THE- Fresh air pipes be installed.
